The history of the vineyard...
The Gallic tribe known as the Helvians had started tending the vine between the Rhône and Cévennes more than 2000 years ago.Côtes du Vivarais, a rustic terroir...
…where the vines grow next to the truffle oak, cade and hackberry trees. The Côtes du Vivarais vineyard is located on either side of the famous Gorges de l’Ardèche on the Gras plateau, at an altitude of 250 metres. The vines flourish on limestone-based land which is fairly shallow, rich in loose stones and marly limestone, soaking up the warmth of the sun in springtime and the heat which is stored up during the day and then released overnight. .
The subsoil is full of hidden treasures such as caves, sinkholes and resurgent springs... The Côtes du Vivarais vineyard has a mixture of olive trees and evergreen oaks and enjoys a Mediterranean climate. The influence of the Mistral also helps its grapes to reach full maturity.
"Vins de Cœur"
More than thirty producers, cooperatives and traders offer you the chance to share these "Vins de Cœur” (wines of the heart) with warm, mineral flavours, and structures which waver between softness and power. These wines reflect the limestone plateau through which the River Ardèche has cut its path, offering a stony gourmet treat.
Reds
Rosés
The rosés are made from the same grape varieties as the reds and are highly aromatic, thanks to the Grenache. They also have a wonderful coolness which makes these wines a genuine pleasure to drink.
Excellent served with grilled meats in summer, with white meats, charcuteries, and ideal for a drink with friends.
Whites
The Marsanne and Grenache Blanc grape varieties offer an amazing mineral quality and coolness. These fruity wines go perfectly with fish, seafood and also fromage frais.
