50,000 direct or indirect jobs make the wine-growing industry the Rhone Valley's leading employer.
Wine-growing requires 10 times as much labour force on average as the other French agricultural activities for the same land surface.

18 600  direct jobs, divided as follows :

 
  • 16 350 in the wine farms
  • 1 150 in the cooperative cellars
  • 1 100 in the trading companies
  • 31 400 indirect jobs

    41% of the agricultural jobs in the Rhone Valley are generated by AOC wine production..
