Distribution of Rhone Valley AOC markets

During the 2008/2009 campaign, 399 million bottles of Rhone Valley AOC were marketed. 75% on the French market, 25% in export

Distribution of production :

  • Cooperative cellars : 65.1% : 1.886.974 hl
  • Private cellars : 32,4% : 939.400 hl
  • Wine-growers/traders : 2.4% : 70.253 hl

Distribution of purchases by traders :

  • Direct marketing by producers : 32% : 126 million bottles
  • Regional bottling (traders or cellar unions) : 53% : 213 million bottles
  • Extra-regional bottling : 15% : 60 million bottles

Total sales distribution :

During the 2008/2009 season total sales reach 399 million bottles of A.O.C. Rhône Valley wines.

  • Volume retailing : 45% soit 181 million units
  • Direct sales : 10 %, soit 38 million units.
  • Specialist stores and other outlets : 10%, soit 40 million units
