General Assembly : Inter Rhône general decisions The General Assembly is made up of 42 members with voting rights (21 representatives from Production and 21 from Wine Merchant Trade) and of members in an advisory capacity (representatives of administration, professional organisations and consumer associations).
Its role:
To decide on the general policy to follow and the general objectives to be reached.
To monitor the actions of the Committee in relation to the fixed objectives.
To approve the accounts and vote the budget of Inter Rhône.
At the suggestion of the Committee, to take decisions which may benefit from the extension procedure in accordance with the law of 10 July 1975 concerning Interprofessional Agricultural Organisations.
The Committee : the executive body of Inter Rhône
It is made up of 26 members : 13 producers, of whom 9 are representatives of the Côtes du Rhône AOC and a representative from each of the Côtes du Ventoux, Costières de Nîmes, Coteaux du Tricastin and Côtes du Luberon AOCs. 13 delegates from the wine trade.
Its role:
To carry out or have carried out the programme fixed by the General Assembly and, if needs be, the missions that the Assembly has entrusted it with.
To verify that the administration of Inter Rhône functions properly.
To decide on strategic and budgetary directions of Inter Rhône on the proposal of the Commissions.
The sections of the Appellation : : "the executive per Appellation"
The sections are made up equally of members of production and wine merchants. They are 21 :
Côtes du Rhône and Côtes du Rhône Villages Section
Crus des Côtes du Rhône: AOC Condrieu, Cornas, Côte Rôtie, Crozes Hermitage, Gigondas, Hermitage, Lirac, Saint Joseph, Saint Péray, Tavel, Vacqueyras, VDN Sections.
AOC Diois, Costières de Nîmes, Côteaux du Tricastin, Côtes du Luberon, Côtes du Ventoux, Côtes du Vivarais Sections.
They implement actions on economic, technical and marketing plans in favour of these Appellations.
The commissions : “segmented decisions”
They are three-fold:
- Technical,
- Economic,
- Marketing / Communication
Each one analyses the propositions of the sections per Appellation, looks into their coherence and transmits them to the Committee for approval.
To that is added the :
- Quality Support Monitoring Commission
which brings together 7 producers and 7 wine merchants. It implements actions aimed at ensuring respect of the quality of products that are available to consumers.
